My mom lived in the Alaskan wilderness for three years in the early 1980s, and fact-checked, edited, and contributed greatly to a novel I wrote about two people surviving in the Alaskan wilderness in 1982!
It is called Liminal People, and it is about queer people of color surviving after being stranded in the tundra. My mom actually has a crush on the main character, an autistic Vietnamese lesbian!
I had a really fun time working with her and getting her help, but unfortunately, the book hasn’t made enough money for me to be able to pay her for her editing services. I am self-employed and autistic, and this is my only source of income, but my mother is also self-employed and takes time out of her day to help me!
She hasn’t asked me to pay her, but I would like to surprise her by contributing to her trip the next time she comes to visit me, since it will be pretty expensive for her. She is extremely supportive of me, an agender autistic queer person living on my own, and I really want to repay her kindness.
I have six books written, all of them about queer autistic people of color, all just PDFs right now, but you can message me to preorder hard copies, which will be along within the next few weeks!
hey guys, i really need money, both for myself and for my mother, so [please reblog!
